OVERVIEW: Last year, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) released new guidance for compliance programs, marking its first update in 15 years. The guidance provides insight into how the government may evaluate a healthcare entity’s compliance program in an enforcement action and discusses the seven elements of an effective compliance program. The office also announced it will publish industry-specific guidance for several types of providers, suppliers, and other healthcare industry participants. What does that mean for hospitals? This webinar will examine how the new guidance affects traditional elements of compliance programs, what’s changed, and what’s stayed the same. The webinar will provide recommendations and insights applicable to your healthcare organization.

MEET YOUR FACULTY:  Kimberly Lammers is a Partner with BairdHolm, LLP.  Lammers provides legal advice to various healthcare clients, from multistate health systems to specialty providers. She has a wealth of practical healthcare experience, having practiced healthcare law exclusively for more than 20 years. In addition, she has spent more than a decade working in-house for a large health system in legal, compliance, and revenue cycle.

 

Kira Strandquest is an Associate with BairdHolm, LLP. Strandquest practices in the healthcare section. She represents physicians, hospitals, and healthcare professionals navigating healthcare-related legal action, business matters, and regulatory compliance issues. Her clients include hospitals, health systems, post-acute and long-term care facilities, and behavioral health providers.

CONTINUING EDUCATION:  Nursing: Up to 1.0 contact hour will be awarded for this offering by the Louisiana Hospital Association for complete attendance and evaluation of the program. The LHA is approved by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing – CE Provider #39.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Individuals who cancel more than seven business days prior to a scheduled event will be charged a cancellation fee of $40 per person unless the webinar is complimentary. Written notice of the cancellation must be emailed to [email protected]. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within seven business days of the event or for no-shows. 

SUBSTITUTION POLICY: Registrants who are unable to participate in an LHA educational event are permitted and encouraged to have an eligible substitute; however, written notice of the substitution must be emailed to [email protected] at least seven business days in advance of the event. The substitution option is not available if written notification is received by the LHA less than seven business days before the scheduled program.
